Frequently Asked Questions
Q-Do I have to leave the house when woodworm spray in loft is being carried out?
Generally not as we can isolate this area most times, however you may have to vacate the property for a few hours during the day our surveyor will advise you.
Q-Is there a strong smell from the chemical used in the woodworm treatment?
No the chemicals which we prefer to use are odourless and water based and are the most user friendly and environmentally safe product on the market
Q-How long do we stay out of loft area once treatments are finished?
Most of our chemical treatments allow a one-hour safe return, therefore when the chemical has completely dried out and at least one hour has lapsed from when we complete the treatments it is safe to return, however we generally recommend twenty-four hours as a precautionary rule.
Q-Is all work guaranteed?
We provide guarantee certificates on most of our treatments and as registered members of Insured Guarantees we can offer insurance protected guarantees on our treatments for future peace of mind.
Q-How long should I have to wait till I can paint or wallpaper a wall, which has just been plastered?
When the surface plaster has dried you can use water based emulsion paints as these allow the walls to breath and do not prevent drying, generally the walls should be left for about one year before considering wallpapering.
Q-How can I prevent black mould returning to my bathroom walls and ceiling?
This is usually caused by excessive moisture cooling down and evaporating on the wall surfaces, thereafter an airborne spore mould forms upon the surface moisture, this usually takes the form of a black spot marking, we have a range of treatments which can be applied with the use of chemicals and passyfier vents and our surveyor will advise you on the best option available for your situation.
